I really have to dial the Way Back machine for this.
I think the idea was that mom would host Thanksgiving each year (2007 - she still
does) and the kids would host christmas. We had been in our home for just
over two years, when we hosted it.
I remember we bought some green plasticware, plates (two sizes), bowls and cups.
We used them for years! I think we only got rid of them when we moved to Des
Moines, which is too bad as they would still be useful. Ah, well.

Decorations
We did some fun decorations. Unfortunately, we haven't done them since.
A few years after this, and we moved to Des Moines. Things changed, as they
do. So, the traditions changed as well. Since we don't have people coming
over to our place for the holiday, we don't decorate anymore when it's just for
us.
