| PC Gamer | Games for the PC | I think I like the different review magazines because I need different points of view of a game. And it's nice to get demos of a lot of games so I can test them before I buy them. I think this does the job but it doesn't compel me to read it every month unless the topics covered are something I am really interested in reading. | C |
| Game Informer | Gamespot's review magazine | This magazine is probably better than I give it credit. My gripe with it, is that because it is a magazine for a store, it covers PC and console equally. Well, that's not what I want! I want what I have, not everything. So, this means that every month it has 20-40% content that is no good to me. However, it did give me the review that made me try Dark Messiah and I have liked that. Further, I think it is good to get reviews from several sources. | B- |
| Games For Windows | PC Game reviewing magazine | I like it but with some trepidation so far. Mainly because some of the games I have liked, they haven't. However, that is typical as I am sure I won't agree with everyone. It is just a matter of learning how their tastes and mine match up. So far, I like it. Good articles and reviews so far. Good writing that I like. The only thing I don't like is the general idea that they have to do a review on the game from the package. If it doesn't work, they have to ding it. In general, I am not going to do that. (Update) 6/7/2007 After several months more, I have to downgrade this grade. Again, it is a good magazine but nothing that compels me to read it every month. I do appreciate the different point of view that it offers but it isn't the final word for me. | C |
| Dungeon | DND adventure magazine | This is a very good magazine. I picked up an issue here and there for ideas. It wasn't until 3E that I got a subscription to it. I have not regretted it for the most part. Each issue has some good ideas for an adventure. Even if I am not using DND, it has names, pictures, maps and ideas for any fantasy adventure. | B+ |
| Dragon | DNDs official magazine | Overall, I like this magazine. It has had its up and downs through the years but has generally done well. Further, as I have played less and less DND, it hasn't always been useful. However, I have usually found something worthwhile in every magazine. | B |
